Cream tee with an all over hand painted abstract graffiti design in pastel colours, with signatures worked into the paint. No brand label remains, with a thread knot left at the neck where it was removed. Crew neck, short sleeves, one of a kind.
Graffiti moved from subway walls into galleries in the 1980s through artists like Jean Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring, and by the 1990s hand painted garments were a staple of the street art scene. Painting on blank tees turned each shirt into a one off. This piece is an original, not a repeat print.

Condition: Fair vintage condition. Yellowing and staining at the collar tape and inside the neck, with a yellow cast across the back. Small orange dot on the back upper area and light marks near one sleeve. Brand label removed. No holes found.
