A faded black tee built around a slacker cartoon in cool blue and teal. A bleary eyed stoner lounges back on a rolling cloud of smoke, a green bong in one hand and a lighter sparking in the other, white high tops kicked out in front. Below him the words "Higher Level" swell up in soft bubble graffiti lettering. The whole print carries a light, aged cracking that sits well against the washed black cotton.
This is the kind of throwaway novelty print that defined the counterculture tee of the nineties, sold in headshops and market stalls rather than any boutique. Screen Stars by Fruit of the Loom was the workhorse blank of the era, and finding one carrying a full colour cartoon like this, softened by decades of wear, is exactly what makes single graphic tees from this period worth chasing.
