Heather grey crew neck tee with a front cartoon print of carolers at a red door while a figure pours a bowl of water from the window above, under a MR BAH HUMBUG title. A signature and the lines Jim Benton and Licensed to Novel Teez Designs sit at the base of the print. The back is plain.
Jim Benton is an American cartoonist known for the Happy Bunny and Dear Dumb Diary series, and his early licensed work was sold through novelty tee companies such as Novel Teez. Mr Bah Humbug riffs on Ebenezer Scrooge from Dickens' A Christmas Carol of 1843. The joke of a grumpy neighbour dumping water on carolers is classic seasonal humour. Single stitch Anvil blanks made in the USA put it in the 1990s.
Condition: Good condition with light cracking to the print. Faint yellowish mark on the front right chest. Small dark smudge inside the collar at the left.
