Black crew neck tee with a single colour grey print on the chest. Blocky stacked lettering reading SLAB CITY is filled with a cracked concrete and road texture, split by a thin band of text that says THE LAST FREE PLACE. Small spaced coordinates run along the bottom edge of the print. The back is plain.
Slab City is the off grid desert settlement in southern California, built on the concrete foundations of an abandoned Marine base, and known as the last free place because there is no rent, no utilities and no authority. It has long drawn artists, drifters and punks, and sits next to the painted hill of Salvation Mountain. The coordinates on the shirt point to the site itself. Cracked slab graphics like this speak to a counter culture that treats ruins as home.
