Bright red tee with a front print of SAM THE RECORD MAN in white script with a black outline, sitting over a black concentric vinyl groove graphic with SAM stacked above and below. A small EST. 1959 line sits at the lower right of the print. The back is plain. Cut oversized in a soft cotton body with a ribbed crew neck.
Sam the Record Man was a Toronto record store founded by Sam Sniderman in 1959, and its flagship on Yonge Street was known for a giant neon sign of two spinning discs. The chain closed in 2007, and the name now lives on through retro merchandise like this. Record store shirts hold a special place for collectors because the shop itself shaped how a whole city found its music.
